Marisa’s path to becoming a hairstylist started long before she stepped behind the chair. At just 12 years old, she sat in Jeff Martin’s chair for her first “Rachel” haircut, beginning years of great hair and friendship. Inspired by Jeff, Marisa eventually followed in his footsteps, completing her apprenticeship in 2012. She brings an energy people are drawn to and an intuition for understanding what someone needs. It’s that connection, along with her talent, that makes sitting in her chair feel special.

A Utah native, John spent four years in Seattle, where he graduated from the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy and spent his evenings bartending and taking in the city’s drag scene. Eventually, Utah called him home, and we were lucky enough to welcome him to the Dexfam. For John, the best part of being a hairstylist is that moment when everything comes together in the final look. “I love taking care of people and helping them see themselves in a new, confident light.”

A graduate of the Aveda Institute Provo class of 2022, Ken brings a thoughtful and thorough approach to everything she does. She loves helping guests see just how beautiful they already are, with an attention to detail that makes every appointment feel considered from start to finish. Always looking for ways to grow, Ken is also pursuing her passion for teaching and helping others learn. When she’s not behind the chair or at school, you’ll likely find her cooking one of her favorite Asian American dishes or deep in a Marvel Comics rabbit hole.

Sadie has been bringing her bright energy to Dexterity since 2017. After graduating from The Aveda Institute in 2016, she spent five months in Shanghai teaching English before finding her way back to Salt Lake and a career behind the chair. Today, she specializes in precision haircutting, pairing a thoughtful eye for detail with the warmth and positivity that come so naturally to her. Her infectious energy and welcoming spirit have a way of making both great hair and good days feel effortless.

Growing up in a family of hairdressers, you could say great hair is in Addie’s DNA. Since joining Dexterity and studying under Jeff, she’s brought her own mix of creativity, curiosity, and genuine care to the chair. Addie has an eye for the details, a love of learning, and a way of making people feel instantly comfortable. She’s always up for trying something new, perfecting her craft, and making sure you leave feeling even better than when you walked in.

After completing his apprenticeship with Jeff, Salem has continued to hone his craft at Dexterity, bringing curiosity, precision, and a love for the details to everything he does. He approaches hair with an adventurous spirit and is always looking for the next opportunity to learn, experiment, and push his skills a little further. That same energy follows him outside the salon, where you’ll find him on a motorcycle, exploring the great outdoors, or doing pretty much anything that gets his heart rate up.

Sarah’s a Montana native who spent years behind the chair (and on stage) in Austin before landing in Salt Lake City to be closer to family and the mountains. With 10+ years in the industry, she’s all about helping clients feel like their best selves through great hair, simple routines, and a little extra hype when you need it. She specializes in highlights, balayage, color, and cuts (short, long, and curly). No perms or updos but otherwise, bring it on. Outside the salon, you’ll find her playing music, rock climbing, or exploring her new city. Always open to recs!
